History of Karl's European Car Service Since Karl's European Car Service opened for business in 1966 in Bountiful, Karl and Erika have been building a smooth and efficient quality auto repair service. At that time, Karl was the only mechanic working out of a 2 bay garage, working exclusively on Volkswagens, Porsches, and Mercedes. When the customers kept coming back, and there was not enough parking to keep up with Karl, he relocated to the current location on 5th West, just south of 5th South. At the same time, Karl began hiring the most skillful mechanics he could find, and began working on working on all foreign cars as well as domestic models. Karl has kept his mechanics working at Karl's for several years, and they have helped to form a very organized group with high standards for quality work. After six years, Erika (married to Karl) began helping Karl as his bookkeeper and general office manager. She has worked with Karl in the automotive industry for at least 30 years, and is very knowledgeable when it comes to auto repair. Erika competently manages the business side of Karl's. Currently, the four mechanics at Karl's work out of seven work bays, and rotate additional cars through the parking behind the shop. Karl's mechanics are ASE certified, the certifying authority which upholds the most rigorous standards of quality craftsmaship in the automotive industry. Karl	Karl began his automotive training at the Ford factory in Cologne, Germany before coming to the United States and has been working on cars in Bountiful, UT since 1966. Karl stays current with the latest news and information while working from his years of experience in the automotive industry to make decisions and ultimately provide a car service with a very high level of customer satisfaction. In his free time, Karl can often be found somewhere in the vicinity of his racecar.
Mike has been with Karl's European Car Service for 22 years and has kept current in his schooling. Mike has completed all of the requirements and has earned his status as an ASE Certified Master Mechanic, meaning he is certified by ASE in all aspects of modern auto repair.
